Here are three things to love about Bad Boys for Life.
Bad Boys For Life just hit theaters, and I think it’s gonna be one of the greats. By that I mean I think we’re gonna be quoting this one like anchorman for years to come.
Here are three things to love about it.
1. It was (so) funny.
You’ve picked up on this one by now, but it’s so true. This movie will have you laughing from the first second. Martin Lawrence and Will Smith are just a treat. We didn’t deserve this. They were hilarious.
The lines in this movie were perfect, and the timing couldn’t have been better. Like I said, we’re gonna be quoting this one for a while. It may be end up being one of those classics when we look back at history.
2. The plot was actually dense.
I went into this movie thinking it was gonna be a comedy from start to finish, with little else going on. It turned out it had a lot going on — so much so that calling it simply a “comedy” wouldn’t do it justice.
The plot was really well written. It was an absolute surprise to me. It was good enough that, even if the jokes weren’t there, it still would have been worth a movie ticket. There are some deep plotlines and intense character arcs shown throughout. It was just solid all around.
3. It left you wanting more.
This was probably the point, as the ending of the movie left a nice opening for a possible Bad Boys 3. I’ll just say it worked. I want to see more of this.
I think there is potential in this franchise to explore more. It has a similar feel to the Fast and Furious franchise in a way. And based on its opening weekend performance, this is likely a real possibility. Rotten Tomatoes reports it came in as the second-highest MLK – opening film ever made, bringing in 73.4 million.
So yeah. Money talks. And nobody will ever be getting sick of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. They can team up anytime and I’ll be there buying my popcorn.
It’s a great movie. I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’ll probably be thinking about lines from it for weeks to come as I sit at my desk at work. Random chuckles are sure to be had, and co-workers heads are sure to be turned as they look at me like I’m crazy.
Go see Bad Boys For Life. That’s all I got to say. Go see it, and enjoy it. You’ll thank me later.
