The XFL is off to a great start today, as social media is exploding.
It’s just what any promoter hopes for in 2020: Everyone is talking about it. The XFL has all the elements of a viral sensation: cameras and impromptu interviews, audio on everyone (coaches, refs, quarterbacks) and all-access viewership. It seems Vince McMahon wants to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the game.
The overall tone? Unfiltered.
It seems most viewers are enjoying the game. It is also very clear that the players are ecstatic to be on the field. These games have all the feels of an intense bout of backyard football. Players are appearing on XFL rosters that were prior college, CFL, and NFL players.
The gladiator-esque kickoffs are also just incredible. (More on that shortly.) So all in all, it appears things are off to a great, and very entertaining, start for the league.
All that to say, here are some of the best reactions on Twitter to the XFL’s new beginning:
Just turned on the XFL.
Kicker missed a field goal and they immediately interviewed him on the sideline asking what happened haha.

I LIKE THE XFL. Coaches I respect, big plays, fresh rules, and a professional broadcast. Congrats guys.

Having this kind of authentic moment access will ultimately be what the XFL wants to focus on over generic sideline interview sound bites. #XFL2020 pic.twitter.com/mAJffvRQ8I
