Harvard applicant Ethan Kim had his application deferred, which means his chances of getting into the school haven’t evaporated, but they aren’t great either.
Ethan Kim really had his heart set on going to Harvard. The teenager from Ardrey Kell high school in Charlotte, North Carolina had his application deferred, though, which greatly dimmed his chances of getting in.
So, he decided to make a rap video to show what he’s made of. And the “Curvy Korean” dropped some FIRE bars!
Check it out in the video above.
I mean, it’s good — then 2:24 hits and you’re left wondering, who is this kid? As he puts the pedal to the metal.
According to the Charlotte Observer, after completing it, Kim uploaded the video to the supplemental items tab on his Harvard portal, which is where you typically add certifications and other things that could help you stand out from the pack.
But the school likely wouldn’t have needed him to do that in order to see it. The video, as of this date, March 1, 2020, has already amassed 622,300 views on YouTube alone.
And with those views has come a horde of supporters, rooting him on.

Twitter has been equally supportive of the young rapper:
I don’t care what this kids scores are. I see something very special.
Ethan Kim is on my radar.

We have to concur — Harvard, let him in! His application has been deferred to December. We’ll see if this helped him out come Christmas time!
